I hope you are enjoying our eBook series! (If you haven’t signed up, please do - in the box to the right - you’ll receive 5 free eBooks about different wild edibles.) You may or may not have gotten the one about lamb’s quarters recently (if you haven’t, it’s on the way!) Below is a video of me harvesting the lamb’s quarters from our unplanted garden, and making a green smoothie with it (the recipe is in the eBook, but you’ll also find it in the video, and I’ll write it out below as well.)

In the video I mention “spinach mite” as making the red dots on the lamb’s quarters leaves. The actual name of the bug is spinach leaf miner, and along with lamb’s quarters it can affect spinach, beets and chard, which are all related.

Enjoy the video!

Green Smoothie Recipe:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango
  • handful strawberries (with greens left on)
large handful of lamb’s quarters (about a cup)
  • ice
  • water (about 3 cups, depends how thick or thin you like your smoothie)

Blend all ingredients and enjoy!

Much love,
~ Melissa
